10 People's Living Conditions Brief Introduction      ¢ñ. The data in this chapter show the basic conditions of the people¡¯s livelihood in the urban and rural areas of Guangdong Province, including employment, income and expenditure of households, level of consumption, housing conditions, consumption and possession of the major consumer goods, etc.ª¥      ¢ò. The data in this chapter are prepared and provided by the Division of Urban Household Survey and the Division of Rural Household Survey under Guangdong Survey Office of the National Bureau of Statistics.ª¥      ¢ó. The data on the livelihood of urban residents come from sample surveys on urban households conducted by the Division of Urban Household Survey under Guangdong Survey Office of the National Bureau of Statistics. The main content of the surveys includes household composition, cash income and expenditure of households, purchases of and expenditures on major commodities, employment of household members, housing conditions and possession of durable consumer goods, etc.      ¢ô. The data on the livelihood of the rural residents mainly come from sample surveys on rural households conducted by the Division of Rural Household Survey under Guangdong Survey Office of the National Bureau of Statistics. The main content of the surveys includes basic conditions of rural households, total household income and expenditure as well as cash income and expenditure, purchase of means of agricultural production, consumption of major commodities, and possession of durable consumer goods, etc.      ¢õ. The survey data of urban households are collected through two-phase sampling scheme combined with multi-stage sampling scheme; whereas survey data of rural households are collected through stratified two-stage sampling.
